How To Determine The App Link Before The App Is Submitted And Published?

The iTunes link to your app can be determined before the app is submitted to iTunes Connect and gets published.

Having the link prior to app publishing is very beneficial. It enables you to:

  • Create an affiliate link to the app to be used in all pre-launch marketing materials (scheduled blog posts, tweets, facebook posts, app cross-promotions etc.)
  • Use the affiliate link inside the app itself when the user is prompted for review using e.g. Appirater

Now, how to get the app link before the app is submitted and published?

Here you go: once you create a new App in iTunes Connect, you are taken to the page where the App ID and App Link are specified.

iTunes Connect

You can right-click the “View in App Store” link on the page and copy the link contents into the clipboard.

Alternatively, you can just copy the App ID and use it to construct the app link in a generic way:

https://itunes.apple.com/app/id596943311

This way, you have got the future iTunes link of your app before it gets submitted and published!

  2. Hi Vlad,

im a developer and suppose i have a ready app. How will i(developer) manage the App Store Optimization(ASO) part?

Should i contact professional SEO’s/companies? they are costly for starters like me! 😦
    Regards.

    • Hi there,

you can find someone on oDesk or Elance to do ASO for you. I would not pay more than $50.

Would that be within your budget or not?

      Vlad

  3. Its good to know we can hire ASOs as well on sites like Odesk but unfortunately my ASO search on Odesk showed no results. May be there exists SEOs but not ASOs? However im still thankful for prompt reply.

Yes $50 is in range! I would request you to through some light on Marketing aspects of our apps in detail in may be some of your new post!

    Stay blessed! 🙂

    • Sure. I will definitely do this. How to market apps is one of the most sophisticated aspects of app business.

You won’t find a lot of people if you look for “ASO” on oDesk and Elance. Rather, just post a job stating that you are looking for someone to create powerful metadata for your iOS App consisting of App Title and App Keywords.

This shall work. Let me know, if you need any more help.
