Do Not Ever Reuse Nextpeer IDs – Your Apps Will Fail

If you use Nextpeer technology to enable multiplayer functionality in your games, make sure, you use distinct IDs for each game level in each app.

Why?

Because, if you reuse the IDs, only one game, usually the latest one, will work.

Others will not. The user will not be able to enter any game level – something to be avoided at all costs.

How To Make Sure Your App Developer Uses The Right Ad IDs In Your Apps?

When your app developer prepares Ad IDs for your app, you must ensure he does not make any mistake.

If he does, you won’t get ad revenue!

If he does, you will lose at least a week of the initial revenue!

If he does, the only way to make it right is to put the new Ad IDs into the code and resubmit it.

You had better avoid these problems!

How?

Make the step of Ad ID Creation and Insertion Into The Code an explicit step in the project your developer has to report on!

Do not make it implicit!

Do not just tell your developer to put ads into your app!

And, most importantly, after the app has been accepted by Apple, check the dashboards of the ad networks used: they must show statistics of ad displays in the app.

If they don’t, you have fallen into the trap and must ask your developer to put the right Ad IDs into the code and resubmit it.

How To Easily Get Your App Discovered in Google Searches?

Your App can be found when users search in Google and other search engines on their mobile devices. This can happen in any mobile web browser and some mobile apps.

This is due to the fact that Apple automatically creates an iTunes URL for your app. That URL is automatically indexed by all the search engines.

The URL is created by Apple the moment you create a new app in iTunes Connect.

And you can fully control the URL’s keywords. That is, you can also fully control, how well your app will be found in Google and other search engines, once it is released.

HOW?

Once you enter the App Title for THE FIRST TIME in iTunes Connect, the iTunes URL for your App will be created based on that title.

You can be sure that the first words in your App Title will be included in the URL. This will have a huge impact on your App’s Discoverability using search engines like Google.

Therefore, get your App Title right THE FIRST TIME you enter it in iTunes Connect. You cannot change the URL of the App afterwards.

How To Determine The App Link Before The App Is Submitted And Published?

The iTunes link to your app can be determined before the app is submitted to iTunes Connect and gets published.

Having the link prior to app publishing is very beneficial. It enables you to:

  • Create an affiliate link to the app to be used in all pre-launch marketing materials (scheduled blog posts, tweets, facebook posts, app cross-promotions etc.)
  • Use the affiliate link inside the app itself when the user is prompted for review using e.g. Appirater

Now, how to get the app link before the app is submitted and published?

Here you go: once you create a new App in iTunes Connect, you are taken to the page where the App ID and App Link are specified.

iTunes Connect

You can right-click the “View in App Store” link on the page and copy the link contents into the clipboard.

Alternatively, you can just copy the App ID and use it to construct the app link in a generic way:

https://itunes.apple.com/app/id596943311

This way, you have got the future iTunes link of your app before it gets submitted and published!

What A Call From Apple May Mean For Your App Business?

Once you have established an app brand, Apple may get noticed your apps.

This can happen only if one of your apps does well in an App Store category.

In this case, Apple may take a closer look at the app. They may analyse your app title, search keywords and description. Rarely, they will also take a look at the icon and screenshots.

Apple’s analysis focuses on the consistency of the app’s marketing messages (title, keywords and descriptions) and the actual value the user gets when using the app.

Apple’s goal is to make sure that well- performing apps actually deliver what their marketing messages promise. Their overall goal is to ensure the best user experience for App Store users, of course.

If Apple detects an inconsistency between the app’s workings and marketing messages, they may give you a ring by phone.

Do not get scared. Listen carefully to what they want you to change.

They will set a deadline for the changes to be submitted to the App Store for review.

Make the changes and submit an app update by the deadline.

Then, keep rocking with the app!

Do Not Pull Information. Rather, Get It Pushed To You. Save Time.

The biggest distraction in your app business probably stems from checking your stats.

You check:

  • daily App Store Rankings in different countries
  • daily earnings from app sales
  • daily app downloads
  • daily earnings from ad sales on Chartboost
  • daily earnings from ad sales on RevMob
  • daily top overall apps
  • daily top grossing apps in your categories
  • daily top free apps in your categories
  • daily top paid apps in your categories
  • daily relevant blogs
  • etc. etc.

Overall it takes you 1-2 hours daily and this time can easily be halved!

Here are the rules of thumb to increase your free time:

1. Have as much information as possible emailed to you daily! Most sites where you check the stats let you set up daily email.

2. Once received, open only those email where you cannot grasp the content from email preview!

Never Touch A Successful App!

If an app of yours sells well in

  • the seemingly wrong category
  • with the seemingly wrong keywords
  • with the seemingly wrong icon
  • with the seemingly unsexy title

do not change a thing.

Let the app succeed as long as it does.

The success of the app means only one thing: the market likes it!

Learn from the app success instead of experimenting with it. The experimentation may actually destroy it!
